From Executive Director

Thank you for your interest in, and generous support of, United Way of Baytown Area!

For Baytown, Highlands and Chambers County, return on investment in United Way continues to grow.

Through targeted community impact, United Way is convening the community to help children be ready to succeed when they enter Kindergarten.  Each fall, more than 1,900 children enter Kindergarten in the Goose Creek and Barbers Hill school districts.  And each fall, more than half of those children do not bring with them the literacy skills needed to succeed from day one.  United Way is leading the effort to bring together numerous community resources to boost skills of caregivers – both in private homes and in child care facilities – to result in appropriate and timely growth and development of children before they enter school.

And for more than 60 years, United Way partner agencies have provided and continue to deliver a broad array of vital services – what children, adults and families need, when they need it – from emergency food, rent and utility assistance, to disaster relief services, child and youth development, medical rehabilitation services and job assistance, refuge from homelessness, escape from domestic violence, a new start free of drug and alcohol addiction, legal advice and services, guidance from a skilled counselor, quality affordable child care, home-delivered meals to senior adults, and more.

When you give, advocate and volunteer through United Way, you help advance the common good – thank you!
